Kim Fillingim has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Evansville, a Master of Science degree in Music Education from Indiana State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Evansville. He has taught instrumental music at Wood Memorial High School in Oakland City, In, Greenwood High School in Greenwood, IN and will be starting his 28th year as a music teacher in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation this fall.
While in the EVSC, he has taught at Scott, Vogel, Highland and Cedar Hall Elementary Schools and was assistant marching band director at Reitz H.S. from 1993-1998. He has been assistant conductor of the EVSC High Honor’s Orchestra and has conducted the EVSC Middle School and High School Honors’ Bands as well as the KMEA All Region 11th and 12th grade band.
Kim is a past member of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and previously conducted the Evansville Symphonic Band from 1998 until 2007. He is the Trombonist in the Evansville Brass Quintet, is a member of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra Big Band and is the recording engineer for the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a continuing member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity and served as president of the Epsilon Upsilon chapter while attending the University of Evansville. He is also a member of the International Bandmasters’ fraternity Phi Beta Mu.
